About the Current

The Current is the independent student newspaper of Marine Science Magnet High School, serving the MSMHS community since 2023. The Current seeks to reflect the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives found at MSMHS by providing community updates, showcasing student creativity, and delivering in-depth journalism. Through these three pillars, The Current aims to be the essential publication for the MSMHS community.

The Current is community bulletin, recording the day-to-day experiences of students, teachers, and parents at MSMHS. Documenting daily activity and school culture, The Current preserves our history for future classes.

The Current is a showcase for student creativity, displaying student achievement and expression. By sharing student-produced writing, art, and music, we help recognize the diversity of talents, backgrounds, and experiences of MSMHS students.
